Are you asking how to create a text link signature? A sentence that when clicked on will take you to somewhere else?
You will have to go to the signature box on the Profile page of your My Account section and enter the appropriate code. You can find that in the Help section under How to Post. You will see examples of how to do bold, italcis, etc and the nect to the last one is Sample Link. Use that format with the url and the words for the link you want to create.
Good luck.

On the other hand, if you mean "alt" text as in the text that shows up when you hover over a link, I'm not sure that bbcode supports that.
In addition to Gery's suggestion, try Google'ing "bbcode".

| I think he's asking how to put an image for a sig and the put the equivalent of an html ALT tag using bbcode. Not sure if bbcode supports this.

I'm sorry but we don't allow images (banners, pics, etc.) in your sig. The sig must be brief text only. Nothing overwhelming.
God Bless,

I can't get my signature to look right. How can I make text links? All the code I use like [url] and <html> shows just like it does here. I want to say "Click here" with everything between the " " as a link, instead of posting the raw url. Please help!

Lisa, retype your url leaving out the " marks. It will then look like this:
