Blog marketing seems real complicated. I was thinking of doing it like a journal where I put in my daily progress with the program I'm in now.

Just get started. That's where a lot of others have a problem. Just type about your experience, give important facts about the product you promote, and just keep putting in new entries.
Most people think blogging is a great idea, but never get around to their first entry. You need to put an entry in a day or every other day. Before you know it, you have tons of entries and lots of free traffic. If you're not good at writing, just have someone read it over before you publish... And, always spell check it.

There are a ton ways to "get started" ... but therein is the key. Just start!
What you blog on, say, write etc. will come to you easier and easier .... but you have to put the some words down FIRST. Don't freeze up ....
The blog will likely evolve as you get more comfortable ... and learn more. Mine did. I have 2 which have been up for over 3 years and went through there own "growing pains" ... as did I.

But it was all worth it. I'm very happy with where they are now ... looks, traffic, and sales generated. Both are "resource" websites which is the theme I chose.
In fact ... I like blogging and the results I get so much that I put up another blog this weekend . Applied everything I'd learned so far .... and will still likely tweek it off and on anyway.

Your first goal needs to be what you will be blogging about, try and make the site as interesting as possible. You will want visitors to come back, to find the topics you are blogging about helpful, and for your readers to go away happy with what they have read.
My advice has got to be, think about marketing your blog once you are completely happy with it, once you are happy with the first part of your site, you can then go on to marketing it.
Depending on the type of site, will then depend on how you wish to get it known to people.
Blogging is also about having fun and pushing new boundaries for yourself. Everyones views are different, but once you have a good site, the marketing and customers should come easy.

I just started writing articles and then posted them on my blog. I post 5 days a week which means 4 articles a week and 1 advertisement. It's amazing what keywords arrive at my blog with so many different articles i've written.
Get started straight away and don't forget google loves you adding fresh unique content

Greetings all! Am just getting started with blogging. Wanting to take my current website and create a blog. Can anyone recommend where I should begin? Is blogger enough or should I use something a little more expansive? Any advice on anything related to blogging is much appreciated. Am not a newbie to MLM but very green in the blog world!

Great information! Thank you!! I enjoyed viewing your blogs as well. Do you do well with the affiliate marketing or does Google Adsense generate more $$? I have a relative who started blogging for fun, has 5 blogs now and is doing roughly $1300/day with Google adsense. Is this a good number? It sounds good to me, but I more want my blog to be used to promote my new MLM company.

Blogspot is fine to get started. But it looks like Wordpress is now the most advanced platform. It seems that all the big marketing blogs are using this platform (with a unique domain they've pruchased). My advice would be to start with the free version so you get used to it. You can always upgrade later.

Well I belive on two things.
1. Always make a blog where you can put good content everyday and make sure that you like that niche most and make it more interesting for your visitors so people visit blog again and again.
2. Promote blog in free way like blog commenting, signature links in Forums which niche is same as yours.

I think a journal of your daily progress is a good way to start a blog for two reasons.
1) If you post about your daily progress in your business, you should have something to post about nearly every day.
2) Knowing that you need to make that post can help motivate you to DO something for your business that day.
Make the posts interesting, and honest. I think people would enjoy knowing what the day-to-day routine is like for building a successful business.
Don't make the posts mini-ads for your business, rather focus on presenting yourself as a real person and the leads will follow.

Hi Jayne, I think that blogger.com is probably a great place to go blogging when you first get started rather than the free wordpress blog, you can move into wordpress once you get the blogging routine down pat.
Plus I'd recommend making your first blog about you so you can start branding yourself. I actually did a youtube video on setting up a who is blog on blogger that you can watch here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV-91Nq464k

The thing about Blogs is to keep updating your content regularly. If you are trying to have your Blog indexed on certain keywords write all of your posts around that keyword.
That way your getting consistent amounts of free targeted traffic from the search engines on a daily basis

Hello Everyone,
I am quite new to this forum, and I must comment that it is great to see so many other people using Blog Marketing combined with Network Marketing, I think it is a great way to start with online MLM.
I have just started my own blog a few days ago, thou I am quite familiar with other online marketing strategy's.
I really wanted to give two tips that might help new bloggers and young online developers.
the first is a great service, you can start a blog within minutes and best of all it has a free account that allows you to create 3 blogs with out paying a cent, you can find this service here: http://www.WordPressDirect.Com
P.s - they have good video tutorials about starting a blog, and they are highly optimizing thier pages so the search engines will love your new website, enjoy
the second thing I wanted to mention is about Search Engine Optimization, I believe that even if you just started it is important to be aware of how to get it right so your blog will be indexed the right way and with the right keywords.
Start by searching some basic information on SEO and remember to target your articles headlines with some relevant keywords, dont try targeting competitive phrases like "MLM Great Opportunity" or something like that... try a less competitive phrase, IE: "internet mlm advertising"... just do some research on google and you will find some hot topic to get started on.
I hope this gives value, I really believe that blogging is a great way to start with websites and online traffic.

How to start with blogging? Great question. If you plan to attack Google you have to be pro because they have amazingly sophisticated algorithms. From my experience,it is good idea to focus on msn because they do not update algorithms and you have better chance with linking also.Why? Well, with unsophisticated algorithms they do count all links,not just quality links.What that means is, that you can make 10 blogs with very general topic about golf,cars,gifts and airplanes pointing to your monetized site about MLM or what ever. I have blogs on my domain so I can add plugin that blog for me(plugin:Caffeinated Content $70)
They will count all links and that will skyrocket your site in 2 weeks.
Plus...socialbookmark every post at furl or facebook or technorati ,stumbleupon.
Syndicate RSS feed from your blogs.
On site...that is different story. I would go with just 1 page and affiliate product ot opportunity link on it.No distractions! Explain what is in it for them and link to that signup page or buy button.On page,if selling product buy domain name with main keyword in it.Example: If you selling small dogs
your domain with keyword and anchor text keyword smalldogs.com ;small-dogs.com, small_dogs.com
In the title:Small dogs-your keyword once plus something else
Body place your keyword 3 more times and anchor text to the same page , like this
<a href="your page link here">small dog</a> If you click on it it will open that same page.It doesnt go anywhere.
If you have a banner, place it in the footer. You can go with a hub or squidoo also.That is all you need,you will have about 3000 visitors in 30 days.
And one more thing,chose product on clickbooth or amazon or cj.com that has CPA-click per action. For example, some companys will pay you to drive people to just sign up name,email and zip code and pay you $30 for that lead.Companies that sell something about debth reduction I think.My conversion is 1 in 7 people sign up.
3000 :7 ~ 428 will give info to get info and 428x 30=$12.840
This works because I am doing it.

I agree, just get started. Dont worry about what to write, just get started.
Yes, there are ways to get search engine traffic to your blog, to optimize your blog for keywords, to get revenue from your blog, but dont' worry about that in the beginning.
Just get out there, write posts and connect with other bloggers in your niche.
Too many people get hung up by not starting because they dont know what to write about.
