It's been a few weeks that I've been trying to ping at both sites, pingoat and pingomatic. Are they down or am I having computer problems?
Can you share some other good ping host?

Pingomatic is fine. They do sometimes "time out" though. Just keep trying with them.
Pingoat has been "undergoing maintenance" for awhile. Don't know why. I know they've had issues with hackers in the past. Maybe that happened again and they're trying to do a fix.
As for other choices. I don't know of any that are worthwhile.

Yeah, pingoat has been down for quite a while. In fact that was my preferred one and I had to switch to ping-o-matic.
Hopefully pingoat will be back up and running soon.

Since the 2 "old stand-byes" are having issues right now .... here's a suggestion:
Move to ipings. I've found it works faster and is more reliable than the pingoat and ping-o-matic ever were.
Learn something new ... and use it.
