I agree.... these are great strats....
Using digg.com ALWAYS gets me on the first or 2nd page of google.
In fact, I did a training video here:

Another tip would be to use http://www.ping.fm which allows you to blast your updates/blogs to all the social network site at one time...I LOVE IT!

Thanx for the valuable content Michael. I was always very skeptical about starting a blog. However, I'm learning now that it's not hard at all. I actually am really starting to enjoy it.
To Your Success,
Frankel

You can give your blog an extra boost by combining it
with the leveraging power of facebook.
In you Facebook profile, start using the application "notes".
Facebook Notes allows you to post micro blog notes or
"mini-articles" that appear on your facebook newsfeed
(which also show up in all your friend's newsfeeds).
And make micro posts that link to your blog article for
a full read on whatever the topic is that you're posting about.
So now you can use the free reach and speed of facebook
to build a free but super targeted list...
Then use the facebook notes app to promote your blog
content... voila! Traffic. Targeted and free.
Enjoy.

Blogging is a great way to drive targeted traffic to your websites, sales letters and opt-in pages. Leaving your thoughts down on the Internet on a regular basis helps build credibility for your business or service. There are millions of blogs online for every kind of subject, so how do you make sure your readers enjoy it? Follow these tips to blogging success.
Branding your blog is important. Each major blog platform has the ability to customize parts of the template. Uploading a branded header image helps the reader remember the company logo. Use videos of your business as posts to create some excitement instead of using all text. Various types of digital files can be included into your posts: MP3's, videos and clickable pictures help brighten up information. Multimedia builds trust and rapport for your brand because readers can see you and your company in many different real-world applications.
Encourage comments on your posts. Creating interactivity and dialogue will help build readership and fans. The way to high and consistent readership is to get people subscribing to the blog. RSS feeds and services like FeedBlitz help build subscribers. Readers will be more apt to subscribe if they know the author is reading and replying to comments. Also, you can get a huge boost of traffic by leaving comments on other people's blogs.
To help get good search engine positioning for your blog, be sure to include keywords in the domain name for your blog address. Domain names are how the search engines find blogs along with good keywords in the titles. The use of tags in each post help connect your blog to all the other ones in the network. When someone clicks on a tag, all the other blogs with the same tag will appear in a search result. This gives the reader many more choices for resources and keeps your blog interconnected with the others.
Always include a call to action at the end of each post with a clearly defined clickable link to additional resources. These resources can be sales letters for your products or an opt-in page to build your database. Content + benefits + call to action = sales.

Thanks for the thread. I actually post to ezinearticles first than to my blog. I don't think it really matters. Great stuff in this thread.
To your freedom and success,

To add to Michael's excellent suggestions of submitting to Digg etc, here's an easy way to make sure you're submitting something newsworthy to the social bookmarking sites.
This assumes your blog post is newsworthy of course:-) Take a snippet (a sentence or two depending on how long the sentence is), and put your keyword at the beginning of the first sentence (if it makes sense), then change a couple of "bigger" words in the snippet.
Then, you have an easy way of writing a good description for your bookmarking.
