One of my students called me this morning, all upset, because the blog she had posted to WordPress had been removed, along with her account, and now she has been permanently banned from WordPress.

This happens all the time, and marketers are left scratching their head wondering why.

The "why" is simple... it's because people don't take the time to read the fine print, abide by the rules and learn the right way to create an article.

The way I teach my students to blog is very simple and can be applied by anyone who is willing to swallow their pride and simply listen to those who know how to do things correctly.

When I blog, I blog for traffic.  I don't blog to sell... that's ridiculous.  You were provided with a sales site when you joined your biz opp... creating more sales sites is redundant and a waste of time.  Your sponosor/coach/mentor should have told you that.

To drive traffic, I need to locate it.  To locate it I used keyword selector tools that will tell me where the targeted traffic is that I am looking for.

In order to drive targeted traffic I need to know my product.  Let's take "blast-o-rama berry juice" for example.

BORBJ is a fictitious name, but it gives us a basis for creating an blog/article that will grab the attention of the person who can BENEFIT from the INGREDIENTS in my PRODUCT.  If you are blogging about your business, opportunity or compensation plan, you are wrong and will probably be banned from any Web 2.0 based resource.

BORBJ, we'll say, is a concentrate made up of mucka tree bark, fairy dust and planktoveggies that help build immunity to airborne pathogens such as pixie dust, nose mites and eye wax.

So, the first thing I need to do is locate a traffic stream.  I do this by using keyword selector tools (The Google AdWords Tool or DigitalPoint) to find out how many people are search for "natural nose mite rememdies" online.

If there is a market for nose mite remedies, I will find that market in my keyword research.  If there's a market, people will be searching for it.

Once I have typed in the keyphrase "natural nose mite rememdies" to my keyword selector tool, it will tell me how many people (by daily, weekly or monthly volume) are searching for "nose mite rememdies."

If the keyword tool is showing large search volumes, I will then do basic research to find out what causes "nose mites"... the expenses of treating those nasty little critters, and a viable solution to the problem by introducing the INGREDIENT a.k.a phytoveggies (creating interest) of my product that, you guessed it, eliminates nose mites.

I will begin my blog by sharing a little of my story, or perhaps the story of a friend who has suffered from nose mites, allowing the reader of my blog to relate with me, thus starting the early phases on relationship marketing strategy.

I will then incorporate some of the issues that nose mites cause, show empathy and concern for those with nose mites and then share what that I have found an answer to the questions concerning the treatment and removal of, you guessed it again, nose mites.

Toward the end of my blog, I will then share a few basic things I have learned in eliminating nose mites and that I have knowledge/information available that will lead people to my website where I can then, sell, the BORBJ that contains the elements that treat nose mites.

My client tried my product because I gave them vialble information that has saved them tons of money they didn't have to spend having the nose mites removed at the doctor.

In the end, the person that was helped is so impressed with my product that they decide they, too, want to sell BORBJ on their website and tell everyone how it helped them get rid of their nose mites forever.

Blogging merely take a little creativity and thinking "outside" the box.

When blogging, shoot for 500 to 800 words of good quality content that actually shares something useful with the reader.  Giving a way good incentives builds trust and will bring people to you looking for more!

I'm here to help!

Hi Rex,

I had one of my blogs shut down too because it had the word MLM in it. But something I now recomend is down load the Wrodpress software and have it hosted by a hosting company, not wordpress. Then they can't shut you down. I love wordpress and am amazed at all the things you can do.

You have much more freedom having wordpress hosted yourself.

Hi Paul,

Good advice... uploading the WordPress system to your server allows you the freedom to do what you want without the risk of being banned.

For those who need assistance in learning how to do this, feel free to contact me.
