Try to post to about twenty to thirty directories per week for each of your blogs. After you have posted to all of your list of directories, start over and post again. The directories you posted your blog or blogs to will remove your links after about sixty to ninety days. You can post to about five directories in about ten minutes if you have already have your information ready to post.
Most of these directories will allow you to just post your blog without signing up for an account, which makes posting to directories very easy to do. There are about three or four directories that will require an account sign up before you can post; even this is 100% free and very easy to do. There are a number of very highly rated sites that are worth the few minutes it takes to set up an account.
If you use google, you should receive a list of directories to submit your blog to. If you want a list of these directories, I will gladly provide you one. The list is quite long which is why I have not included it in this post, but I will gladly do so in another post, but only if there are those who are interested in seeing it. Otherwise, google should be a good start to build your list of directories to post your blog to.

Some of them want you to put links on your blog which can clutter the place up

Great advise. Just wanted to add, make sure you update your blogs with fresh content often. An blog that is active and being updated will rank you higher in the search engines.

Yes, I have links in my blogs, but the links are, for the most part, connected to my business. I have placed the links along the side of my blogs.
Maria, you are corrected. Regularly updating your blogs is key to getting your blog ranking higher. I update both of my blogs once a week.

It's true that regular posting is crucial. As far as I can tell that alone will slowly increase your blog traffic. (Not only does Google reward you for your regular work, but regular posting means that you are amassing more content. More content means a greater chance that it will appear in search results.)
Re directories: I've been submitting to them and they definitely do seem to help. I'd say try and do as many of the blogging only ones as possible first, then try the general ones.

Fresh content is, indeed, key. Another thing that I've found is to use sites like ping-o-matic, which updates search engines whenever you post new content. It's a way of getting indexed faster and alerting the "web" to your new entries.

Another thing you can do is submit your blog to directories like MSN, Yahoo, Google. This too will help with indexing your blog. You should do this about once a month.
I have alos added meta tags and keywords to both of my blogs. I am still adding keywords to one of my blogs. Just about finished.
I am still fairly new to network marketing, started in August. I still have a lot to learn so as I go along, I gladly share with others. I am also learning a lot from others. Sharing of ideas is what I like most about network marketing.

Be wary of submiting your Blog to the SEs like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Maybe MSN .... but not all 3. Submiting directly to SEs really doesn't do much for you and can actually slow down or delay indexing.
Pinging consistently (such as through Pingoat) works much better for speed and consistency of indexing by SEs. They "hear" about the update to the content of your blog that way and are more likely to spider and reindex your site in a more timely fashion....giving you higher rankings than just submiting directly to them. It has something to do with their ranking/indexing algorithms.
Just a tip.

| Besides directories, it's always good to submit to social bookmarking sites. Directorys are looked at (by me at least) mainly for backlinking.

Michael, I will keep you suggestion in mind. It is just that so often so many people have different opinons about what to do to online for marketing. I actually read a training that mentioned submitting your blogs to sites and how helpful this would be. I have also heard people mention that pinging you blog is really not necessary. I still do it, but the information you get from people on the internet is very confusing.

I believe these forums are truely great as they offer a varied differences of opinions which leave a huge vaiety of information for us to investigate into and make the decisions right for us. Thank you Racquel. I am still learning too, but as I learn I also try to share everything I have learned from others.
Marketing is a skill. Most often, people who are new to owning a business don't have marketing skills. This is why achieving success does not happen overnight. Thus it makes sense that if you work on yourself first, you will begin to gradually see success in your business.
Practice your skills and work on yourself. Be persistent and consistent in your efforts day in and day out. Success is repetition.
