If you have hours and hours to spare:-)  this (very long) web page has a listing  of 145 search engines to submit your Blog to.

http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/

I'd love to know of anyone who's submitted to all 145 sites!

You can never go wrong using any tool from Google.

They recently started a blog directory and search engine with tons of potential to get your blog....and articles...seen by more people.

http://search.blogger.com/

If your blog publishes a site feed in any format and automatically pings an updating service (such as Weblogs.com), they should be able to find and list it. Also, they will soon be providing a form that you can use to manually add your blog to theirr index, in case they haven't picked it up automatically. Stay tuned for more information on this.

BTW, I've even seen some of my blog posts turn up in the top 20 sites listed for some key words in the search engines...google, yahoo, and msn in particular.

God Bless,

Michael

It's back up now Philena.   Most sites are only down for a very short time, if ever (for many)

I haven't seen Blog Flux mentioned.

They describe their mission as:

Blog Flux has one goal - to be the single source for bloggers and blog readers. Be it finding new blogs, subscribing to RSS feeds, or pinging sites with blog updates, you won't have to scurry over to multiple sites. All available on one site.

http://www.blogflux.com/

Act on your dream!

Hi JD,

I actually mentioned it in another thread...

http://homebasedbusinessforums.com/view_topic.php?id=1475&forum_id=6&jump_to=5319#p5319

"But the major benefit to using ones like http://pingoat.com and http://pingomatic.com is that they ping many more locations. There's also the Blog Flux Pinger as well, which is a good one."

But good notice!:D It definitely needs to be here as well so people can be aware of it and benefit from its usefulness.

And aside from the pinger, they also have some good tools like a PageRank Checker, MapStats, and a LinkLog which allows you to see what links are being clicked on by your users, how often they are clicked, & what pages they are clicked from.

Here is an extensive list of blog directories.

Most of these will accept your blog listing for free.

I have also heard that adding your blog site feed to my yahoo helps it get noticed too.

Hi Aaron, I did it and almost forgot to tell you... After much thought and with your encouragement, I bit the dust and started blogging...  http://thebesthomebusinessopportunity.blogspot.com

My goal in developing this blog was to not only show my readers just how to attain more income, but to also help them begin living life to it's fullest with better health!

As I began posting, it came to my realization that I must have real direction - purpose in what I write, to make this blog truly meaningful to my readers... Yes, I want to introduce my readers to this amazing business opportunity, but also, I want to empower my readers to reach for and attain their own personal goals, whatever they may be.

With this blog, it is my hope to Educate! Motivate! and Activate! my readers...  to enable them to open "doors" that are waiting to be easily opened, one at a time,  to walk through each door to the next until they find the beginnings of their own dreams turn to reality.

I want my blog to be one such door!

The one thing I've learned over the years... is that MLM is really all about one thing... PEOPLE. It's about helping people live the life they desire and empowering them to feel the best they've ever felt...

I want to do exactly that!

Jaynee :)

Good job so far Jaynee!:D Now just make sure you post to it frequently...basically, as much as possible. And then before you know it you'll have a pretty sizeable blog with a steady flow of readers!

I only started mine a short while back and it's already grown into something pretty exciting for me. And to think that I knew absolutely ZERO html when I first put it up!

Yep, blogging is certainly addicting!

Hi folks,

I have found a free tool that allows you to let people sign up from
your blog directly. The program is called Feedblitz. It sends a daily
email digest of any updates or new posts you have made on your
blog direct to the subscribers email address that they provided by
filling out the email form on your blog etc. You can check it out over
at there website http://www.feedblitz.com  I found it when i got
a feedburner account.

Cheers for now
          ;)

replying to question on multiple blogs.

Some blogs are tagged as "spam" blogs,  I know one site I worked with got an email from Google asking him to verify,  He is an international terrorist expert so that was easy.

But the email asked what other sites he had etc,

Another person said they had their google ad words accoun refused because they said the pages didnt meet their criteria?

Just weird odds and ends Im throwing in as I saw I was asked way back in the beginning of this threade LOL

As Chris and others have said.. owning multiple blogs is ok, as long as they aren't spammy.

Google is currently under attack by spam software that creates a ton of fake blogs.  Its an attempt to spam and there are several programs being sold right now.  I was shocked when a company I thought was a legitimate company offered to sell me a product that was intended to generate hundreds of spam blogs per day.

So thats what Google is looking out for.

So you could make a blogger blog about your product and a seperate one about your opportunity.  Thats considered ok.

However if you made 100 blogs about your product, they'd get ticked off at you.

Regarding cool new blog marketing tools...

I found a cool new feature the other day.  PRWeb (the press release company) now offers podcasts.  When you submit your press release if you pay $200 or more you can schedule a podcast interview.

What they do is have two guys call you and record a 15 minute or so interview which gets edited down to about 7-8 minutes.  They then attach this to your press release and also submit it to various podcast directories.

It may be kind of early to be doing podcasts. I'm not expecting a huge response from my podcast interview but I thought it was a pretty cool idea, it gets me a lot of exposure and I can take that mp3 and put it on my blog and use it in other marketing.

You can see my last press release at:
http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/5/prweb341157.htm

In the right hand navigation you can see links to the podcasts.

Hi Freedomfire :),
Love your post on blogging.
I have been trying to make a success online for many years now and untill recently had no luck.
I have found a great business now and I'm marketing various methods which are bringing in results and now having a go at blogging.
Really new when it comes to blogging.
I have set up my blog and pinged it and used pingoat.
I have used the "rate your blog's value" on pingoat and the results it bought back were..................ERRR.....no links to blog.

Have I done something wrong?Perhaps you could advise me what I need to do to get links to my blog?

Thanks for your time

Adrian:D

Hi Adrian,

Nope...you did nothing wrong.  Just understand that posting and pinging alone doesn't create back links to your blog site.  People have to take action to physically place a link to your blog on their website/blog.  To make that happen you need to build up credibility with informative posts over time.  They like what you write...they link back to you.

You can also ping and tag too.  Submit your post to tag communities like Furl.net, blinklist.com, jots.com, and blogmarks.net.   Go to these sites and you'll see what I mean.  You post your blog to specific Tags (keywords) and get listed (linked) for that keyword on a specific "Tag" page the search engines will pick up.  Instant links....instant SE listing.

Just a couple tips to help you on your way.  I suggest you read through all the contributiuons in this thread too.  Lots of good resources.

Hope that helps a little.

God Bless,

Michael
