Tracy Hamilton is right when she says:
I think that one of the benefits that you should look for in programs that offer the "funded proposal" strategy is...You want to find one that let's you brand Yourself.
Branding yourself as the expert in network marketing, or anything for that matter , is effective but only if you are an expert. Faking it will eventually be seen through and only hurt your reputation.
Branding yourself is the way to go but pretending to be someone you're not is business suicide. People would much rather be associated with honest people working together to build a business than dishonest posers.
We all have to start somewhere and following a leader makes good business sense. Just make sure that you give credit where credit is due if you're passing along information that you got from someone else.
For example, if you are copying something from a funded proposal that one of the leaders in that system shares with you and you copy it verbatum and just erase and add your name to it, that is not branding yourself. That is plagarism. It would be much better to give credit to the person.
Branding yourself takes time and persistence. So dont stop and be patient.
Teach Don't Sell But
New person will think they need to do a sales pitch, they'll need to talk about their product. They will need someone to say to them that they need to listen more. To give value more. To educate, engage, inspire more and one of them can start with an article.
Find out....
You know someone is with you, new, right? I think it be wonderful to find out what they think about the book they read, what stuck out, what do they think they need to do. Sometimes we so wanted to get down to business but maybe, it's time to get to know the person, ask questions, listen and guide them to what they want, look for.
I believe the more one gives, the more can open a window for someone to who is willing to learn, be helped, can really do a lot. It raises that person who gives and "branding" already started. In Giving.
For example, yesterday, step by step, I helped someone design their own capture page. Add a form from their auto-responder, and now, they are ready to go to write articles and use that capture to bring people in.
Something happens here. Like a warmth of mutual respect. Something, I don't know, but amazing. It has this massive ripple effect which comes later and you don't even see it. lol.
Start Branding And Start, At Least Start..
I think what we tend to do, is read, read, read and not start, and when we do start, not focus on getting good at one thing. People seem to be distracted, trying this and trying that. Which is fine, one needs to sometime do this but..
How about get really good at for example, videos. Really up it up, get good at communicate, be creative with it, know how to leverage it, bang in a personality touch, do what others don't do, and hit it at an angle that some say, "Oh My God! Why didn't I think of that?!"
To do this, one needs to be in there for a while, and suddenly the creative juices, the things many don't see because they don't stick at, comes flowing. The thing called "being themselves" and that is one heck of a branding, cause that's what people want. They buy into who you are, your leadership, what you stand for, value content, great team and system, without...even saying it.
It's just my opinion.
I could say more but I want others to share because I know, many people here have a lot of value, thinking, approaches, opinions that will definitely benefit yourself and everyone, including myself.
Growing together,

Hi,
Tracy makes a very good point. Some funded proposals - although very well constructed - tend to feed opt-ins into their own autoresponder sequence and position them as the information provider rather than you.
I have found 'Renegade' to work very well in terms of preselling the front end product with a well written free report, but not crowding out the new subscriber's inbox with their own message sequence when you're trying to add value with your own. Otherwise it can feel that you're in competition with your own funded proposal provider!
Some great tips on this forum from some very enlightened and 'giving' contributors. Wish I'd found it when I was starting out!
Good luck to all in this brave New World!
Alun

| I'm not using one now, but I've used Dennis Korays' My Fortune Formula before and I can say I did receive some results.

Bellabuddy wrote:I have used both magnetic sponsoring and the renegade network marketer. I much prefer magnetic sponosoring. For me personally, they have given me more an extra source of income and great training rather than new team members.
And the reason for that is they promote themselves and not you. That is one of the biggest problems with most of these Funded Proposals, they promote the author or person who invented the proposal, i.e Mike or Ann.
That is why I much prefer the Funded Proposal I joined...it promotes 'me' it shows me as the leader/mentor and I get to shine, not Mike, Ann or whoever else.
A Funded Proposal in my opinion is the smart way to go as you can monetarize as you are building your primary business.
This might come as a cold hard statistic, however it's the truth...95% of people on your list won't join your primary company. However do you think they will purchase something that will help them grow their MLM business? Yep, absolutely.

So,do tell us....
What funded proposal system are you using that lets you brand yourself as the expert? Which begs the next question....
What if you're not an expert and just a newbie starting out and you're using a funded proposal system that brands you as an expert? How does that work really?

If you are looking to duplicate yourself in your home based business I would not recommend buying a funded proposal system that is not already set up to promote or educate for your products or opportunity.
Why?
Because for one that means you must setup the lead capture page and email campaign yourself and this is not as easy as it looks.
I would recommend joining a company that already built the funded proposal system for you, so all you do is tap into their system that is geared towards promoting and marketing their opportunity. So, your only responsibility would be to drive traffic to your lead capture page (which the company would teach you to do).

Hi Robert,
Remember though, it's all about promoting YOU in this industry. Not your product or opportunity. Lead with you and you will see far greater results. Remember this is the relationship business. Not the wonder vitamin or whatever business.
If you really understand attraction marketing Robert, you would know that you would want people to bond with you and then it doesn't really matter what product or company you are with, they will join because of the relationship you have with them and that is the key.
Warmly,
~ David

Great thread Frank!
I love the power of a funded proposal.
The best part is that the funding element does not have to be expensive at all. I have
had my best success presenting a simple $5 e-book.
You hit the nail one the head that one of the most important aspects of a funded
proposal system is how soon and how effectively you are able to interact with your
new, highly targeted lead.
Too many people think that a funded proposal strategy is about making a couple of
bucks of the offered item. The REAL value is in the relationship that you are now able
to nurture.
Of course the other wild card is the person utilizing the funded proposal strategy
needs to know how to advertise, market and attract quality traffic.
I am new to this forum ... but I'll bet I can find some cool tips and tricks on those
important elements as well.
Cheers,
Paul

I think the funded proposal is a great tool to use. It should not be your only tool. You should have 3 to 12 lead generation sources generating leads at all times. When done correctly the funded proposal will work, but like most of the posts here you still have to contact them. Human contact, it will not grow your business on it's own. There are plenty of informational e-books that you can get the rights to, and offer them as a funded proposal. Like books that show the tax benefits of owning your own home based business, and then show them a great home business opportunity. You show them the benefits of having a home based business, and then show them your network marketing opportunity. That is just one of the tactics we implement.. Good luck
