Hi folks.
I just got myself a lead capture page. The first one I have ever made. Its look pretty good.
I want to learn to capture my own leads. I believe in using a variety of methods to build your business,online,offline,running ads,home gatherings,buying high quality purchased leads etc...but I also want to now learn how to capture my own leads with my capture page.
For those of you who have used lead capture pages successfully I have a few questions. I am totally new to this.
Other than online communities and discussion forums "where" do you place your capture pages?
How do you find the best places where people see them?
How do you drive traffic to your capture page?

Blogs, Press Releases, and Videos are big traffic draws. Blogs allow you to establish a running dialogue and are very search engine friendly. Blog on a subject that is relevant to your site and use keywords that you believe represent your site well. But do not blatantly advertise your site in the blog. Instead, make you blog informative, something that someone who is interested in the subject matter will want to read.
Press Releases are announcements that you can write about your business and in many cases get published for free. You can feel free to make your announcement somewhat of an advertisement, but formatted as a new article.
Videos can be funny, serious, short, long, entertaining, or informative; just about anything goes with videos these days. The video doesn't have to be professional, just attention-grabbing in some way. Like websites, it's a good idea to brand your video in some way to make it more memorable.

Thanks.
I guess my real question is "HOW" do you get the traffic?
So, I get a BLOG. Then how do I get it out there where people will see it? The same goes for my capture page.
I do not have a BLOG because they seem like a lot of work.
Also where can you find how to do a Press Release?

Personally, think of what kind of person would be on your lead capture page and then where that kind of person might look on-line.
Is it a lead capture page for dog outfits (just kidding). You can use PPC to advertise whereever people looking for dog outfits would be. Its not about the quantity of the traffic, its about the quality IMHO.

I've found one of the best programs that I've ever studied for brining in leads, creating lead capture pages and process has come from a site called Renegade-Marketing-System they have a free subscription and there's some very good information there I found, then out of interest I went in and upgraded to their higher service and found so many hours worth of training videos and the content was very good.
I like to check out other training videos and resources from time to time, even though I consider myself fairly well trained in online marketing.
The other resource that has just come hot off the press covers this process of lead capture also and sales funnel strategies, this site is minisiteprofits-exposed.com and it has around 3 to 4 hours of step-by-step systems, which I thought were a little basic, but great for those who are new to this sort of online marketing and attraction marketing online.
Hope they help you and give you a little more insight from their free material they offer.

I see that you have quite a few post here. I have found forums to be an invaluable tool for getting answers to my questions and providing the community with information that I know and being helpful.
I also notice that you have no signature line, at least not in this post. I would suggest you edit your profile to include this and add your lead capture page to it. This way everyone that reads your post in any community will have the opportunity to visit your site. This is perfect because the communities you are a part of have everything to do with the kind of topics you speak on and the participants are people you want to attract. They are like minded and this is the name of the game no matter what business your in, attract like minded people.

Yes, I know, I have been using forums for over a decade but I was switching websites around thats all....I need to tweek my capture page a bit then I will put it in my sig file again.

I have always wanted to goto Ontario. I have never been. How is it?
So tell me, what methods have you used to generate traffic in the past that would be different with a lead capture page?
I have had a lot of success with PPC myself but it can get expensive.

PPC can be expensive, but the best way I've found thru Search Engine Optimization. Who do you want to target? Make sure your Lead Capture Page is optimized for those keywords, and begin building backlinks, either in blogs, forums, or link exchanges to get higher up in the Search Engines.
It takes a while, but pretty soon you'll be getting highly targeted hits, for Free

One more thing I might add to the above responses:
Anytime you can advertise with something that helps benefit people, the more likely that you will drive traffic to your site. And I don't mean a "bait-and-switch," but give them something they can really use and benefit from. It will definitely come back to you ten-fold. I opperate on a "give-first" principal, because I know that the more people I am able to help, the more my own business is going to be built up in the process, through referrals, and through people returning to do business with me in the future.
