The program I want to promote gave me a website, but I can't modify it (see my sig for the link).

I have 2 other sites that belong to me, so I can create link swap pages on both of them. One is my home site, CountryNaturals, geared to country life. The other is my DVD Buy, Sell, Swap site.

So, may I post my BIOPRO website for the swap, but put your links on one of my other sites in exchange and not violate the terms of this thread?

Sorry Suz...you have to share the exact site you want to link to/from.  The example you shared wouldn't work well for SE link exchange and PR (page rank) strategy as it wouldn't be a real link.  The SEs would penalize the person linking to you for that.

God Bless,

Michael

Okay, thanks. I'll just wait until my DVD site is ready to promote and use that one, instead. It's 100% mine, so I can put up a swap page, there.

Rick

You may want to purchase a single page WEB site from a good hosting company that also has base templetes that are easily linked.  You can do this for around $8-10 per month including the hosting.  If you need more questions answered please followup and I can help.

John

I found a hosting company that does the page generation for you...all you need to do is discuss what you want it to look like and give them the images etc.

They also can do all the linking, SEO etc at a reasonable price.

Email me if you would like the information.

Basically what it boils down to is that you have to have your own website that you created to provde a links page.

People won't exchange links with someone who can't add their link, they don't benefit.

Additionally they may not exchange links with you if your links page or site has no google page rank - like if it is a "0" (zero pr)

To Be honest, so far PR does have some
relevancy to the traffic.

However, you could always find a link
broker and as long as you could link
your site with a higher PR site your PR
will be increased too.

So, it doesn't matter if you have a low or high.

As long as you can get some links - that would
certainly help.;)

I'm a bit confused also.  So we need a specific page on our sites that are just for links to other people's sites?

Does this help someone get listed in search engines sooner?

Yes  .... and yes (sort of).  The second yes ONLY if your link page lists just websites that are relevant to YOUR website.  As in linking to pet related sites and your site is on dog training or something.  Apples to apples .... NOT apples to oranges.  The linked to sites should also have a PR equal to or better than yours.

Too many with link sites just link to anybody.  Do NOT do that.

God Bless,

Michael

It's all about trying to match your links with content. Untargeted links will do nothing. :?

I have always been confused even after a friend of mine told me how exchanges work. Maybe he did not simplify it for me but I am still lost, if someone can explain this for me it would be appreciated. Thanks!
