| Just two weeks ago I placed an ad for my online business on the back window of my car. It is so nice to know that when I drive to work and back, I am prospecting on the way. Has anyone had experience with this or any success stories. My only success so far is that people are tailgating me a lot more, instead of getting angry, I just assume they are my next prospect. Please share any experiences if you have any.

| I have seen these around more and more. Have you seen the window socks that fit to your back windsreen with your add on them. You can see out but the people outside see your add.

Yes, it's a good method for promoting own business. And it's almost free. I have some experieces like yours. But I promoted products on city buses for our company at that time. And the ad fee is not cheap.

Personally, I have had one of these for a while, and although very cheap (£20/$40 fitted) I have yet to hear the magic words.....'I saw your advert on your car'!
ALSO, a lot depends on the car you drive - for example, I regularly see a Kleeneze ad on a local car - the car is about 15 years old, and a real rust-bucket - the sign on it 'need extra income? call me and I will show you how' does NOT fill you with confidence!

I have had a vinal sticker with just my website stuck to my back windscreen. Also not with to much success. I think due more to the fact that my car is also not a flashy new one. But hey it still gets the name out.

I think that we need to try every marketing idea we can.
Car signs, card holders that say, "Take One".
You can do a search on, - take one - card holder-, and it will come up!
I have also seen teasers, like, " Join Me in The Best Internet Business", and a 800 number.
Does is work I don't know, I didn't call it, but it was interesting!

| I like to do advertising that I would respond to. I have noticed many signs on cars, but I have never responded to one. What kinds of ad do you respond to?

Good question. i guess I've been around the block a few times, so I don't pay much attention to the 'Earn extra income' stuff, only to work out who it is (generally, where I live, it's Kleeneze or Herbalife.
One thing that totally, TOTALLY turns me off though, are those websites where they don't tell you anything without you handing over your name, address, tel. no. They don't give you a clue who they are or what business they are in. Personally, I would never respond to those.

Angie- I feel the same way that you do, however thank goodness my husband doesn't. He found the business that we now own and I have never felt more successful and liberated financially than I do now.
I like to know the name of the compnay and what it is, but the system just doesn't seem to work that way. I don't know if it is because there is too much misinformation on the web or misconceptions. I sometimes think that my business is so easy to understand, that people don't get it. I didn't at first. My husband started the business without me and it wasn't until he took me to a conference to make me realize that it was real and then I became a part of it and successful.
I used to work with franchisees for Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins and Togo's. There was so much $ and work that went into starting that business, that I couldn't believe that you could start a business without having $1million and 2 years of work without a profit!

Well, it takes all sorts, Molly, and it is a good job it does -something for everyone.
I agree that it is important not to give all the information up front.....I guess the ads/websites I am really talking about are the ones who don't mention the TYPE of product (healthcare/telecoms/beauty etc), or the company name, and are just ra-ra and endless hype - but that might just be an English perspective rather than an American one - I think perhaps we are a lot more cynical than you!

PS I've just checked out your link, and watched the video - it isn't one that I would respond too, it is like 1000's of others on the web (and believe me, I've watched most of them!). It's 'all mouth and no trousers' as we say over here! Which is a shame - because you could have a business that I am interested in. But I am not even going to investigate it. Watching your video told me absolutely nothing.
But that's just my perspective, presumably you do get plenty of responses, it's just that you are also turning off a, potentially huge, chunk of your market, IMHO.
I did hear a rumour that the DSA are going to introduce a new rule where a company HAD to be named in the advert. Not sure whether that is just in the UK, or DSA rule worldwide. That would be an interesting development.

I too feel like the car needs to be presentable. A 20 year old rust bucket will definitely create some humor and some laughs, but nobody will take a car advertisement too seriously. My car is not a fancy $50,000 car, but it's about 3 years old and the paint on it is beautiful, I just be sure that the car is always clean and looks it's best.

An eye-catching sticker at the back of your car will be good enough. Transparent sticker with colored letters will be cool and you still can prospect while the car is parked.
In my opinion, the most important thing is that you KISS (keep it short and simple) your ad.

If you are going to advertise on your car it needs to look professional. You can purchase them on-line. One site people in my group use is http://bizopguy.com/offlinetools/html/magnets.php
I haven't purchased one myself, but make sure whatever you do it looks professional and it is something that you are proud of.
