Not Selling Any Products? Here's Why...
How would you like to unload more product each and every month... no matter what MLM company you're with - and no matter what products you're selling?
I'd like to share a simple principle that can make you money hand over fist, leaving other distributors in your company dumbfounded - wondering how you consistently pull it off!
It's only 6 words and it comes in the form of a question.
Here it is:
"What Do My Prospects Really Want?"
It sounds simple I know, but let's delve beneath the surface and really get our hands dirty - because there's A LOT more to this question than meets the eye.

TO BE THE BEST AT SOMETHING, YOU HAVE TO LEARN FROM THE BEST

When I was struggling to sell stuff early in my MLM career, I stopped taking sales advice from my company and started getting it from real experts. The advertising pioneers... the persuasion professionals... people who HAD to know what they were doing because their job was
to sell thousands of products BY THEMSELVES - using nothing more than words on paper.
I mean Michael, I think you'd agree with me, I'd have to be crazy NOT to copy their wildly successful and proven advertising secrets (... strategies that had already made them millions in other industries) and use them in the MLM industry – with my own business!
The following was hands down one of the most important things I've ever learned from these marketing legends and is something I'm constantly asking myself:
"What do my prospects really want?"
Let me give you an example.
Women don't want cosmetics... we really want to improve our appearance, become more attractive, and maybe (hypothetically speaking here) hide a few wrinkles and imperfections while we're at it!
Plus, it is always nice to get compliments from others - especially that special someone - on how beautiful you look.
Charles Revson, the make-up mogul who created and managed Revlon for over 50 years, clearly understood what his prospects really wanted. He was once quoted saying: "In the factory we make lipstick, in our advertising we sell hope."
Let's look at another one.
Elderly folks don't want just another bottle of arthritis pills... they really want relief from the uncomfortable pain they're always in.
And more than that, they really want to live their lives independently - without relying on someone else's help... to be able to freely move about in the garden... to be capable of keeping up with their grandkids...to finally get a refreshing nights sleep!
Here's one more - it's one of my favorites!
Back in the 1800's, Daniel Webster an American statesman, was asked by a friend to auction off his farm.
"Neighbors," he said, "we're not auctioning Tom Brown's 34 good milk cows... or 80 acres of fine land... or a sturdy home that's seen 20 winters...
"No," continued Daniel, "I'm offering you the chance of biting into a red apple with the juicy sap running over your lips... the smell of new mown hay... clear mountain steam water on your table... the crunch of snow under your feet... and the best neighbors in the world..."
After he was finished, bids from the townsfolk came pouring in - because Mr. Webster knew
what his prospects really wanted!
So please, take some time (maybe even a couple of hours) and really ask yourself:
"What Do My Prospects Really Want?"
Be sure to scribble down everything you come up with. Don't stop until you've got at least a couple of pages of answers.

If you're having trouble coming up with ideas and find yourself staring at a blank piece of paper, here are a few suggestions from master copywriter and advertising great, Victor Schwab.
Your prospects want to GAIN: Self-confidence... Fame... Compliments from others... Sense of accomplishment... Improved appearance... Comfort... (the list goes on)
Your prospects want to BE: Recognized by others... Friendly and outgoing... Stylish and fashionable... Proud of what they own... "First" in things... Influential over others... (the list goes on)
Your prospects want to DO: Uniquely express themselves... Resist being controlled by others... Emulate the admirable... Acquire things... Win the affection of others... Improve themselves generally... (the list goes on)
Your prospects want to SAVE: Time... Money... Work... Discomfort... Worry... Doubts... Risk... Personal Embarrassment...
Michael, if you can combine the benefits of what you're selling with what your prospects really want, then your products will grow wings and fly off the shelves - literally!
I sincerely hope this lesson turns out to be as valuable to you as it was to me.

This is great and so true about what it says about not following what the company says but following what people in sales actually say. I now listen to a lot of podcasts and read books by sales people in other industries and not network marketing people.

| It is simple sales, i justed started in mlm, and i come from a sales background. You need to determine their needs and wants. And then provide a solution. I recommend any one listen to Brian Tracy and advanced selling audio. Or read the book Spin Selling. Ask question, Ask questions, Ask Questions!!!

I am glad you shared this with us Freedom F, I can say that i have learn a few things from this article. Copy Writing skills are not my forte but there are a few handy hints in this article alone that i can benefit from.

This is a great article dont sell drill sell holes nobody wants a drill they want the holes the drill makes.
I know a people in MLM who hold wellness nights where they talk about health issue which then sell the products.
I give away a audio book through my website that highlight the reason why they should buy my products. I make a squueze page they capture info.

Very true.
This is what I would say 90% of network marketers do not understand. They think that they have the greatest product on earth and that everyone will want it. I know because I was one of them when I Started.
The most important concept is to find SOLUTIONS.
Once people see that you are trying to GENUINELY help, they will look to you for leadership or the product you are offering.

Some people are just lazy in your point #1 of #10 you said to know your product. I am a internet marketing coach and when I teach web design and sales letters I have people ask me what to write I ask them about their product and they dont know they have not taken the time to learn their product.

The Secret Of Closing Every Sale In Network Marketing
In an mlm business, network marketers make the grave mistake by trying hard to close the sale using their clever presentation techniques. However, this “coax’ method is ineffective, time-consuming and energy wasting! In fact, the best strategy is never persuade anyone to join your mlm business is the key method in succeeding. Don’t ever try to sell things to anyone.
Don’t try to sell things to anyone
I remember insurance agents, sellers and sales people stationed their booth at train stations, bus interchanges and shopping malls to catch commuters to see their plans and business. The outcome is facing numerous rejections and what they are doing is playing with number to win the game. Ratio is their key. However, after thinking it through, this is like approaching anyone aimlessly. When an army intrude an enemy ground, they need laser target aim at the base, because that is where the command centre is. 1) Create an open mind
So to ensure your prospective prospect interested in what you have to offer, it is important to establish a long term relationship rather than a short term one. Hence, the key is to learn how to open the sale, rather than closing the sale. Nobody likes to be forced to buy something. Strangely, shoppers went to department store and after sometime, they came out with bags of items. Did anyone coax them to buy something? So what is the secret here: Do Not Sell but display good service and possess good knowledge in your field.
2) Be An Expert
My friend went to the Sport House to get some shoes. But he was spoiled for choice. In fact, he had no intention to buy anything from the shop but the salesman approached him and explained to him the traits, benefits of each shoes and even offer recommendation for him. He was surprised by his knowledge and his professionalism and thereby, the salesman won his trust by becoming an expert, acting as a consultant to help his client meets his needs. In the end, my friend bought a piece of shoes back.
3) Never pre-judged a potential client
Sometime, we network marketers tend to think, my friend surely will not like this business or what if he or she rejects me. What will happen if they know I have engaged in this business and they start laughing at me? Because of this, we make the grave mistake of pre-judging a potential qualified customer. Don’t jump to conclusion. The problem lies in being we had no faith in our product and the business. If we do, we will not have entertained such thoughts, instead we should feel proud to share it. If you do encounter such a problem, the foremost thing is to understand why you join this business and how confidence is you in the products? After settling this issue, start jotting down your prospect list and don’t write anyone off. You will never know they may be the perfect candidates for the business that you are introducing them.
Again, learn this 3 skills well, don’ sell but create an open mind and be good service. Secondly, be an expert providing sound and valuable recommendation. Thirdly, don’t pre-judge anyone and I believe your business will flourish if you follow these 3 golden tips.
