I've been building this site up for a few months....and despite the work involved I'm honestly having a lot of fun with it.
Some of you here have suggested ideas for posts and/or contributed links to resources I could write about. I very much appreciate that.
The PR has jumped to a 4 and rising...and the total reciprocal relevant links are going up too (although that does fluctuate some due to SE fickleness). Both mean that my SEO is pretty good and I'm getting decent online traffic from web searches (Google, Yahoo, and MSN....plus blog directories).
If anyone is interested in doing a business blog...I may be biased but I think this is a really good example to get some ideas from:

You're welcome to drop on by anytime and don't forget to leave a comment. Feel free to share the posts with anyone you like. Please use the individual blog post link to do that (at the bottom of each post...can also use the "email" it link).
FYI....I also have a non-MLM site at http://Broadband-Nation.blogspot.com if you'd like to see another example. Takes some time & effort to set-up...some time to maintain (adding new content - posts). But not that bad if you choose a theme you have interest in.
I suggest if you do want to set up your own blog....that you select a theme you have an interest/passion in. You're more likely to stick with it...find like minded people who share that interest (generates traffic and relationships)...and benefit more from the experience (sales, sign-ups, relationships, networking, referals).

Well keep up the good work Michael. I think you have a very good and helpful blog there. I've only been working on mine (http://homebusinesstoday.blogspot.com) since late September, but hav had some very good results with it in such a short time.
And I agree, if anyone is looking to set up a business blog that they should certainly take a gander at yours.

I started this blog in February as a repository for all the resources I've been sharing for sometime in forums like this one. Kind of took off from there with sharing everything I could find that I thought was useful....including recommendations from personal research, friends and various forums.
The "theme" pretty much captures it all:

Michael and Aaron,
Seriously considering entering the Blogisphere myself.
I've heard BlogSpot.com is good, however, there are proponents of running your blog on your own domain server. Plenty of what appears fairly easy CGI and PHP Free Blog software packages available.
What are you guy's thoughts on controlling your own versus using someone elses system generated blog?

Personally...and this may just be me...I'm partial to simple, convenient, worry free, and no cost. May be "lowest denominator" but I subscribe to the "keep it simple" approach. After it's all set-up...all I need to do with blogspot is put up a post. And set-up was quick and easy for me.
However....the "high end" may be more involved but there is more to work with too. More freedom to really customize and brand yourself. Plus it's more likely to get favorable SEs treatment translating to more online visibility and traffic (your own domain for example). You can get good vis and traffic with something like blogspot too (I do) just takes a bit of persistence.

Yeah, I seriously think you should get involved with blogs! There are just so many benefits to having one or two... or a few!
And yes, http://blogspot.com is great... or just go to http://blogger.com as it all leads to the same place and is all owned by Google.

All in all, I think if you can design and run a blog on your own server, with your own domain name, then that's perhaps the better choice. BUT, if you cannot, then I would highly recommend something like Blogger.com.
I do very much agree with Michael in the fact that having a worry-free, convenient, and FREE blog service is certainly wonderful and simple and good to do. -And that's exactly what I've done myself since my actual HTML skills are "still blooming." ...Though I have managed to do a bit of HTML on my blog all on my own, and I must say that's it's all been a lot of fun!
I believe the final decision realistically comes down to how much time you have and what you can put into it (HTML/design-wise). And of course, your own blog on your own server means that you have more freedom to customize and brand your products/services... and is much more likely to get, as Michael said, "favorable SEs treatment translating to more online visibility and traffic (your own domain for example).
Bottom line, if you have the skills AND the time, then I might say to run your own blog on your own server. But if you don't, then by all means, check out the free ones for sure. And then, just jump in and start blogging!
